Acres beats IGT's patent claims

The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has concluded a thorough review of the patent infringement claims filed by International Game Technology (IGT) against Acres, ultimately rejecting all claims.

IGT had alleged that Acres' Foundation® casino management system violated at least four out of over 200 patents related to cashless wagering, also demanding royalties that could have significantly raised Foundation's casino pricing.

In response, Acres submitted prior art evidence, leading to the dismissal of all asserted claims.

In 2021, IGT asserted its patent claims, prompting Acres to request a re-examination of the four patents by the USPTO.

John Acres, Acres Founder, said: "These patents should never have been asserted against us."

The rejection by the USPTO secures the position of Acres' Foundation casino management system, ensuring its pricing will not experience an increase due to the dismissed patent claims.

This development follows Acres' strategic moves in the industry,Free games including the recent appointment of David Bain as Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Bain, with a background in corporate finance and as a Managing Director in various investment banks, is expected to enhance Acres' financial strategies and maximise profits for stakeholders.

Additionally, Acres has been actively involved in partnerships, such as the collaboration with Maverick Gaming, where Acres provided its CMS+ and Cashless Casino app software to Maverick Gaming properties.

The technology, integrated with Foundation hardware, aims to enhance data accessibility for casinos and facilitate communication on the casino floor using mobile phone technology.
